The physical toll COVID-19 has taken on people over the last two years has been well documented, but what’s received far less attention has been the impact on people who watched their loved ones suffer.
A new study looked at families of patients and the trauma they experienced and, in some cases, are still struggling with today.
Jamie Mauracher talks with those who felt those impacts and looks into a U.S.-based study that found more than half of relatives of COVID-19 ICU patients are experiencing significant symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
